LBM Advantage was created in 2016 with the historic merger of long-time, dealer-owned buying groups ENAP and PAL, and included IBSA in 2017.
All three co-ops were founded decades ago by lumberyard owners who saw their future success strengthened by combining purchasing resources. That tenet holds true today and is reflected in our mission statement: "To create a competitive advantage for our members by leveraging their collective power".
With independent dealers located in 41 states and continually growing, Advantage's purchasing volume allows members to operate competitively. Our offices are centrally located in key markets, and our staff are experts on local building codes, regional product and materials preferences, logistics and competition.

As a dealer-owned cooperative, Advantage employees work diligently every day to provide our membership with timely market opportunities, information, and service. We are an extension of our members' purchasing staff, and we take pride in learning individual preferences of lumber species and mills, as well as building material manufacturers and product categories.
With a membership comprised of independent businesses, we understand choice is important. Advantage respects the need for other buying sources, and we partner with several supply organizations to provide the best collection of options. We do not dictate programs, but offer competitive solutions and leave decisions up to each member.
Our Forest Products Division maintains solid relationships with preferred lumber and panel mills in all species. Advantage traders are skilled at maximizing the cash market, negotiating contracts and pooling synergies for block buys. Our regional reloads service Advantage members with mixed truck tallies.
On the Building Products side, our goal is to become our members' first option for all categories including commodities, specialties, millwork and kitchen and bath products. Our approach is account specific, working tirelesslly to maximize all aspects of our programs (price, rebates and incentives) and giving our membership the competitive advantage they need to compete in their respective markets. Whether mill-direct or distribution, we manage market trends, providing our membership the information they need to win the business.
